San Diego elementary school children have a chance to showcase their public speaking skills by competing in the first annual Teen Speaking Skills & After School Learning Tree speech contest. All 1st-6th grade students in San Diego are eligible to enter the speech contest.
The speech contest will be held at After School Learning Tree in Sorrento Valley on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. The theme is inspirational speeches. The 1st-3rd grade students will present 1-3 minute inspirational speeches, and the 4th-6th grade students will present 2-4 minute inspirational speeches.
Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each division. The entry fee is $15, and the deadline to register has been extended to October 19, 2012.
