Teen Speaking Skills Contestants & Kathleen Petrone
Seven Teen Speaking Skills graduates competed in the Del Mar Solana Beach Optimist Club’s speech contest on Saturday, February 25 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Solana Beach. The students showcased their public speaking skills and shared their outlook on optimism during 4-5 minute speeches on the topic “How my Optimism Helps me Overcome Obstacles.”
In both the male and female speech competitions, the contestants competed for cash prizes of $50, $100, & $150 and the opportunity to advanced to the zone level competition. Congratulations to Teen Speaking Skills graduates and finalists Solana and Joel. Joel also received an honorable mention for being the youngest contestant and competing among middle school and high school students!
Congratulations also to Teen Speaking Skills graduates Priya for winning 3rd place, Megha & Hanrui for winning 2nd place, and Aisiri & Austin for winning 1st place and the right to advance to the next level of the speech competition! Aisiri & Austin, good luck at the zone level competition!
