The San Diego County Fair will hold their annual speech contest for students in grades K-12 on Sunday, June 10, 2012. The topic this year is “To Infinity and Beyond…” and speeches should be a maximum of 5 minutes. Contestants may choose to compete individually or with a group of up to three people. The three divisions are K-5th, 6th-8th, and 9th-12th.
Last year several Teen Speaking Skills graduates participated in the various divisions and won awards! The 1st place award is $300, the 2nd place award is $225, and the 3rd place award is $150. Each contestant will receive 2 free passes to the fair.
There is a $10 entry fee and students must pre-register by completing the official entry form. A maximum of 20 entries per division, or a total of 60 entries, will be accepted on a first received, first accepted basis.
