Ignite San Diego provides an interesting opportunity for students and adults to use their public speaking and presentation skills to share on topics about which they are extremely passionate.
Ignite speakers have 5 minutes to share their speeches, which are accompanied by 20 slides that auto advance every 15 seconds. Timing is everything! Well, not everything, but it is a very important component.
Ignite began in Seattle in 2006. Now Ignite events occur in 100 cities. Speakers who are interested in presenting during Ignite San Diego #6 have until Friday, April 8, 2016 to submit their applications.
Ignite San Diego #6 will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 9 a.m.

Academy for Public Speaking students and graduates have helped Ignite San Diego speakers and Toastmasters International World Championship contestants prepare for their presentations and speech competitions by providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Mila Diamond and Prabhu Kandasamy, the 2013 and 2015 Toastmasters International speech contestants for District 5 (San Diego and Yuma, Arizona) both visited the Academy for Public Speaking to rehearse their semi-finals and finals contest speeches for the World Championship of Public Speaking at the annual Toastmasters International Convention.
Mila and Prabhu both found rehearsing with the Academy for Public Speaking students and graduates to be extremely beneficial.
Private coaching sessions are also offered by public speaking coach Kathleen Petrone, the President and Founder of the Academy for Public Speaking. To schedule private public speaking coaching sessions, please use this link to contact us.
