The Del Sol Lions Club Speech Contestants
Congratulations to Teen Speaking Skills graduate Aisiri for competing in the Del Sol Lions Club 75th Annual Student Speakers Speech Contest! Aisiri was one of only 3 San Diego teens who took advantage of the opportunity to compete in the Del Sol Lions Club Speech Contest on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Fletcher Cove Community Center in Solana Beach.
Each finalist presented a 5-10 minute speech on the topic “What Could the America of Yesterday Teach the America of Tomorrow?” Students who compete in speech contests not only improve their public speaking skills, but they also have the opportunity to win cash prizes and scholarship money for college. Teen Speaking Skills graduates will compete again this year in the upcoming Del Mar Solana Beach Optimist Club’s Speech Contest on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Solana Beach. For the Optimist Club’s contest, each contestant will present a 4-5 minute speech on the topic “How my Optimism Helps me Overcome my Obstacles.” Best of luck to all of the Teen Speaking Skills graduates who will compete in the Optimist Club’s speech contest on February 25th!
