Del Mar Solana Beach Optimist Club Speech Contestants 2013
Nine Academy for Public Speaking graduates will compete in the Del Mar Solana Beach Optimist Club’s Oratorical Contests on Saturday, March 22, 2014. The students will share four to five minute inspirational speeches on the topic How My Passions Impact the World.
The oratorical contests will be held at the Calvary Lutheran Church located at 424 Via de la Valle in Solana Beach 92075. The speech contest for girls will be held in the morning beginning at 9 a.m. The speech contest for boys is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. The contest is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Academy for Public Speaking graduates have competed in the annual Del Mar Solana Beach Optimist Club’s Oratorical Contest for years. Every year it is such a pleasure to watch the Academy graduates showcase their public speaking skills as they compete to advance to the zone and district levels of the contest and win the top prize of a $2,500 scholarship.
The boy and girl winners of the Del Mar Solana Beach Optimist Club’s Oratorical Contests will each win cash prizes of $150 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place, and $50 for 3rd place. The 1st place winners will also advance to the zone level of the oratorical contest where they will compete to advance to the final level of the speech contest.
