The Academy for Public Speaking offers public speaking courses, summer camp classes, and personal coaching sessions for children in San Diego.
Our public speaking program empowers students to become confident, effective communicators. Children gain confidence as they improve their public speaking and leadership skills.
During our level one course, children learn the basics of public speaking – from learning how to organize their thoughts and writing a speech to practicing presentation techniques and providing written and verbal evaluations for their classmates.
Our next level one public speaking course will begin on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 5-6 p.m. at After School Learning Tree in Sorrento Valley.

During the advanced course, students learn how to use emotion, vocal variety, facial expressions, gestures, and body language. They also learn how to give speeches using only key word notes and without using any notes at all. Students must be a graduate of our level one course or have previous public speaking experience to enroll in the advanced course.
Our next advanced course will begin on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 4-5 p.m. at After School Learning Tree in Sorrento Valley.
In addition to our eight session courses that meet once a week for an hour on Wednesdays or Saturdays, we also offer a two week public speaking summer camp course. Our summer camp courses are offered through the Del Mar Union School District and at Golden Dragon.

Winter 2016 Graduates
Our summer camp courses at Ashley Falls Elementary are open to all students in San Diego who will enter 3rd-7th grade in the fall, but registration is only available through the Del Mar Union School District beginning on April 11, 2016. To register for summer camp at Ashley Falls, please use this link.
We also offer a free introductory public speaking class for new students. During the free class your child will learn how embracing the power of public speaking leads to greater happiness and success in school and life.
Our next introduction to public speaking class will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 1:30 p.m. in Sorrento Valley. However, seating is limited and advance registration is required. To reserve a seat for your child, please use this link.
