Seven Academy for Public Speaking students competed in the 2015 Lions Club Student Speakers Contest, representing Lions Clubs in San Diego. The topic this year is Water Conservation – How Can We Reduce, Recycle, and Reclaim.
There are six levels to the Lions Club Student Speakers Contest. The prize for winning all six levels is a total of $21,000 in scholarships. Last year Academy for Public Speaking student Alex Danilowicz won a $4,500 scholarship in the fourth level of the competition.
Academy for Public Speaking graduate Neil Majumdar competed in the Rancho Bernardo Lions Club Contest held on January 31, 2015. Aisiri Murulidhar competed in the San Diego President’s Lions Club Contest on February 3, 2015. After winning first place, Aisiri advanced to the second level of the speech contest on March 2, 2015.
On February 7, 2015, Academy for Public Speaking graduates Jocelyn Tzeng and Solana Garcia competed in the San Diego North County Lions Club Contest. Solana won first place and advanced to the Lions Club Coast Zone Contest on February 28, 2015.
On February 11 and March 11, 2015, Alex Danilowicz represented the North Park Lions Club in the club and zone level speech contests. Alex won first place in both contests and will compete again in the region contest on April 1, 2015. Good luck, Alex!
Academy for Public Speaking graduates Austin Zhang and Hanrui Zhang competed in the Encinitas Lions Club Students Speakers Contest on February 15, 2015. Hanrui won first place in this contest and the coast zone contest on February 28, 2015. Hanrui will compete in the Northwest Region Contest on March 28, 2015. Best of luck, Hanrui!
