Teen Speaking Skills Offers Acting Adventures Course for Children in San Diego

Does your child love being dramatic, creative, and expressive? Teen Speaking Skills is offering an exciting new acting course this summer for all San Diego students in grades 3-6 as part of the Del Mar School District’s Children’s Creative Workshops.

Acting Adventures is an interactive course where children gain confidence and have fun as they develop their dramatic abilities and communication skills. The students learn how to express themselves clearly, confidently, and effectively by participating in games and exercises that involve the use of emotion, enthusiasm, body language, and vocal variety.

Improvisational activities provide opportunities for the students to develop their listening and impromptu speaking skills. Class projects include storytelling, character development, and appearing in plays and on television. Your budding actor or actress will experience telling compelling stories, becoming convincing characters, starring in class plays, and appearing as a host or guest on our imitation television show.

Acting Adventures is open to all 3rd-6th grade students in San Diego. Classes will be held at Sage Canyon Elementary, which is located at 5290 Harvest Run Drive in Carmel Valley, CA 92130. The dates for Session 1 are July 2-13, with no classes on July 4th. The dates for Session 2 are July 16-27. Classes meet Monday-Friday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Register your child by mail or in person at Ashley Falls Elementary School before May 31, 2012. The Acting Adventures course fee is $100, and the school district charges a $15 registration fee per family.
