Academy for Public Speaking Student Won the 2014 San Diego District Lions Club Student Speaker Contest

Academy for Public Speaking student won 1st place and a $4,500 scholarship in the 2014 Lions Club Student Speakers Contest!

Alexander Won a $4,500 Scholarship!

Academy for Public Speaking coaching client Alexander competed in the San Diego District Lions Club Student Speaker Contest on April 12, 2014. Alexander won 1st place and a $4,500 scholarship!

The Lions Club Student Speaker Contest is a highly competitive annual speech contest for students in 9th-12th grade. There are six levels to the speech contest. Students begin winning scholarship money at the fourth level of the contest.

Alexander advanced to the fifth level of the Lions Club Student Speaker Contest, the state semi-finals, on May 10, 2014 in Whittier, California where he competed to win a $6,500 scholarship.

The state finals will be held in Pasadena, California on Saturday, June 7, 2014. The top prize for winning 1st place in the state finals is a $10,000 scholarship.
